Cool Programs

Yet another list of programs. These are a selection of useful programs and other things that I use myself or I think are interesting.

Just Cool.

Instead of scrolling text or pipes, let your computer do something useful while you're not there. This cool screensaver analyzes data from radio telescopes to help look for Extra-Terrestrial signals. SETI@Home.

Compression.

Everybody should have a UnZip program to uncompress any .ZIP files you download. I use WinZip--the best known one out there.

Protection.

An anti-virus program is another essential. McAfee Clinic is what protects my computer.

More Protection.

Some kind of "firewall" program to let you know what is trying to use your Internet connection is also recommended to help protect your computer from hackers, etc. ZoneAlarm Pro is one of the best.

The Computer Itself.

Been just buying Dell computers for quite awhile.
